Lampyridae Lures selected by Dr. Sara Lewis of Tufts University for Summer Field research project.

Patent Allowed
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted a Patent to Stephen Taylor for his invention titled,

A Method for Emulating Visible Electromagnetic Spectrum Emissions of Member Species of Arthropoda: Insecta: Coleoptera: Lampyridae

The patent encompasses both method(s) and device(s) for emulating firefly flash patterns through the use software controlled microprocessor technology.

Scientific research has been conducted on fireflies for many years. However, it is only recently that scientist have discovered many of the secrets of the firefly, including what controls their flashing.

Listed below are research papers coving a variety of topics of interest to those that desire facts about fireflies.
